A specialised 10-week program using microlearning to help frontline leaders build inclusive habits through real-world operational scenarios.

Inclusion Habits for Operations Leaders
Organisation Overview
The National Association of Women in Operations (NAWO) is the leading national network designed to support and empower women working in operational industries, including manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics. With a vision to see gender balance valued and achieved at every level, NAWO provides a platform for meaningful connection, professional development, and advocacy. The organisation works with individuals and businesses to foster inclusive cultures, connecting members with inspiring role models and practical resources to help them thrive in historically male oriented sectors.
How This Program Supports Women in Manufacturing
NAWO is driving practical cultural change on the factory floor through its ground-breaking initiative, “Inclusion Habits for Operations Leaders.” Recognising that standard corporate diversity training often fails to resonate with frontline staff, NAWO developed this program specifically for operational leaders. It is grounded in the distinct language and reality of the industry, ensuring that every module and scenario reflects the lived experiences of those working in manufacturing and operations environments.
The 10-week program utilises smart technology and app-based microlearning to fit seamlessly into the busy schedules of frontline managers. By combining bite-sized learning “nudges” with webinars and real-life behaviour experiments, the initiative moves beyond theoretical concepts to drive tangible behavioural change. Leaders are guided to test and adopt new inclusive habits directly within their daily workflows, making the practice of inclusion immediate, relevant, and actionable.
To ensure the program’s effectiveness, NAWO partnered with Social Ventures Australia and BehaviourWorks Australia to evaluate its impact. The results demonstrated that this targeted approach successfully builds psychological safety, increases job satisfaction, and fosters a more inclusive climate. By equipping the “leaders of the many” with the specific tools they need to lead inclusively, NAWO is ensuring that the manufacturing industry becomes a place where diverse talent can truly belong and succeed.
