Mentoring Program

A comprehensive development program offering one-on-one and group mentoring for women, plus dedicated allyship training for male leaders.

Organisation Overview

The National Association of Women in Operations (NAWO) is the leading national network designed to support and empower women working in operational industries, including manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics. With a vision to see gender balance valued and achieved at every level, NAWO provides a platform for meaningful connection, professional development, and advocacy. The organisation works with individuals and businesses to foster inclusive cultures, connecting members with inspiring role models and practical resources to help them thrive in historically male oriented sectors.

NAWO drives professional growth and industry retention through its comprehensive “Mentoring Program.” Recognising that mentorship is a critical catalyst for career acceleration, NAWO offers a flexible structure designed to meet the diverse needs of women in the manufacturing and operations sectors. The program provides two distinct pathways for women: “Mentoring Circles,” which connect small groups of peers with senior industry facilitators to discuss career stages and shared challenges, and “1:1 Mentoring,” which pairs individuals with experienced leaders for personalised, goal-oriented guidance.

A standout feature of the initiative is its rigorous hand-matching process. NAWO invests significant effort in pairing mentees with mentors from different companies and industries, fostering cross-sector learning and expanding professional networks beyond a participant’s immediate workplace. This external perspective helps emerging leaders navigate complex career landscapes, build resilience, and access new opportunities for sponsorship and advancement.

Beyond supporting women directly, NAWO addresses the broader cultural environment through its “GEM (Gender Equality Men)” program. This specialised stream is designed for men who wish to become active allies and change-makers within their organisations. By equipping male leaders with the tools to understand their role in fostering gender equity, the program ensures a holistic approach to inclusion, creating safer and more supportive workplaces where women can succeed long-term.
