Pathways+ is a national digital directory that showcases initiatives supporting women in
manufacturing. It was developed by the Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance to
improve visibility, coordination and access to programs that help women enter, remain
and progress in manufacturing careers. Initiatives were identified through a national literature review, stakeholder interviews and sector mapping undertaken by the Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance in 2025. 

Pathways+ builds on earlier research examining gender participation in Australia’s
manufacturing workforce. Stakeholders consistently highlighted that while many strong
initiatives exist, they are often difficult to find. Pathways+ brings these initiatives
together in one accessible location.

Pathways+ is designed for:

  • Employers seeking to improve gender diversity
  • Training providers and RTOs
  • Industry bodies and peak organisations
  • Community organisations
  • Women interested in manufacturing careers

No. Pathways+ is not a funding program and does not provide financial support. It is a
visibility and connection platform that helps users identify relevant programs and
initiatives already operating across the sector.

Inclusion in the directory does not constitute formal endorsement. Pathways+ aims to
provide visibility of existing programs so users can explore and determine suitability for
their context.

Yes. Organisations can contact the Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance to request
inclusion. Submissions are reviewed to ensure alignment with the purpose and scope of
Pathways+.

The directory will be periodically reviewed and updated to maintain accuracy and reflect
new initiatives emerging across the sector.

No. Pathways+ is freely accessible via the Manufacturing Alliance website.
